Nike's annual "Day of the Dead" sneaker release comes to us quadrupled this year with a wide array of silhouettes to celebrate the holiday. The Air Jordan 1 Mid, Nike Daybreak Type, Air Max 90, and Blazer Mid are featured in this special drop, hitting Mexico on Oct. 8 with a global, SNKRS release slatted later for Oct. 15.
This year a pack of four sneakers plays with warm, tonal, Fall-themed purple, yellow, and red. The colors play more with the culture of the holiday instead of the traditional spooky sugar skulls and dark colors that have come before. The sneakers pay homage to Mexican heritage taking inspiration from the altar used in the holiday as well as the Marigold, a traditional Mexican flower. The Air Jordan 1 Mid and Air Max 90 feature more busy and warmly dressed colorways with the Daybreak Type and Blazer Mid offering more subtle pops of color against a mostly white backdrop.
"Day of the Dead" is an annual tradition for the Swoosh. The traditional themes of the Mexican holiday have graced sneakers so successfully that some of them have achieved novelty/cult status; Nike's SB Dunk Low became a quickly coveted sneaker thanks to their "Dia de los Muertos" treatment.
Price is still unknown for the individual pairs but keep it locked here for more information and click the sneakers below for more details and where to cop.
